We wanted to let you know that our 4-H group performed your play "Peggy the Pint-sized Pirate" today at our county wide arts fesitval known as Creative Arts Day. This production won 1st place in the One Act Drama category and our actress "Peggy" took 1st and the "sea monster" 2nd place in their age division (both are 10 years old. Attached are a few photos. More photos and a video will be sent to you as soon as we can get the photos & VHS tape copied. Your scripts are always a HIT! Below are some comments from the judges about the play :

-I like the way you included the "extras" into the play, and giving them group lines. I like it that the play included all ages. (we gave 4 younger actresses the part of extra pirates and the oyster audience during the game show scene)

-The stage setting and props were great, very appealing. (we used very long blue fabric of two shades stretched over pvc pipe frames for the ocean so the "sea monster" and "Oceanna" could pop up in the water, cardboard ships made from wide screen tv box, and Peggy and Scummy had "little kid" swim rings, a frog and a seal instead of small boat. The wheel of misfortune was made from a bicycle rim and using a playing card clipped to the spokes, so it clicked as it turned.).

-The costumes added to the story line nicely. ( Our little sea monster wore a green and purple suit fashioned out of a dinosaur pattern, with gloved hands and big feet. The pirates were all in traditional pirate garb including fake mustaches and pirate hats. The oysters wore large shells made from posterboard, string and buttons and Pearl was dressed all in white and used white spray color on her hair)

All in all, we had a good time rehearsing and performing this play. Thankyou again.
